Florence moves fast if you let it. I didn't.
I was working a corner near the Oltrarno when she came through. A woman in a blue veil crossing a shaft of afternoon light. The geometry of the street, the shadow splitting the wall, the way she moved through it all without slowing down. I had maybe two seconds. This is what came out of them.
This is not a composed image. There was no direction, no setup, no second chance. It is the kind of frame you spend years learning to see and then you have to trust your hands to catch it.
Shot on location in Florence, Italy. Part of the Light and Shadow Series.
